July release available + question for you :D

Hello everyone :D

Release is here (minus the character who suffered the save incident, will upload asap when done!)

The MMF links will soon follow when everything finished uploading and all is validated.

How are you liking this release? We tried some new things here, doing some modular ''troops'', and doing charactes with alternative posing mainly!

It's a fun thing to do for us, and we would like to explore it more, but let us know what you think!

Tomorrow I'll show you what I started for August (as well as announcing the theme), you'll get I think a good selection of NPCs and minis you can use in combat or in games like Frostgrave etc!

As soon as the last mini is done it'll be uploaded, and I'll sent the release link to everyone in your message for extra safety!

Take care everyone!

Still great to have you all here! Please share around when you can, let's try to grow a bit more if we can :D

See you tomorrow!

LOVING the modular style and the relaxed and "hero" or fighting poses as well as Gabriel points out. My campaign is entirely on an island after a ship wreck with no signs of civilisation, so these are perfect!

I love modular troops! The crabs aren't for me, personally, but I can see this work really well for something like skeletons or golems. The posing is also a really good idea, it's an inexpensive way to add more value to the release. Most of your characters are a bit too unique that I'd print the same one in multiple poses, but it's still really nice to be able to choose the pose I like best. And having multiple poses for something a bit more generic like farmers or city guards would be amazing. As someone else mentioned, I don't really print busts, either. But I know some people like them, so I certainly don't mind if you branch out there. One thing to note is that the busts I've seen from other creators are usually a fair bit more detailed than yours. Your sculpts are perfect for the tabletop scale and actually print nicer than some models that are IMO almost too detailed, but if you simply scale them up for a bust they are a bit plain. Take that with a grain of salt though, as I said I don't print busts either way.

Totally valid for sure!!! I know the crab-folks I did are quite specific! You might like August theme then, I'll announce it a bit later today :D

Great looking models as always. Just not my theme this month as I tend to go for more village themes, which yours are of course amazing. The Orphanage models were so cute.

Thank you :D

Thank you :D That was exactly my plan! I don't want them to be only ''monsters'', if people want them as part of their pirate crew as NPC it's great too! I'll be doing it again next time I do things like that!

I wouldn't be against adding more crab-folks one day for sure :D Maybe directly on MMF (and as bonus on Patreon), so they don't take release space again! We don't do it with rigging, we just have a T posed model and pose in Zbrush directly! But yes I feel like it's a good way of having more options relatively quickly! Thanks for your inputs!!

Yes!! I'm actually doing it for a NPC I'm doing for August, combat pose and his specific pose. Personally (Jonathan here), modular troops is something I love, as a wargamer. I most likely won't go very very deep into it like legs, body etc, as it wasn't the plan for this patreon, but I feel like how the crab-folks are is a good middle ground! I might do more modular stuff as direct release on MMF one day though!

Thanks a lot :D Happy you like them! Appreciate all the supportive comments!!!

I'm diggin it

The Modular crabs were a really nice surprise! Especially for things that are mostly going to be enemy models, I love having modular bits to pick from so I can print exactly what I need, and I think my favorite thing about the modular arms is that you included "passive" items in addition to weapons. I can just as easily make a friendly crabman with a lamp and map as I can a terrifying 4 sword wielding crab guardian! I think this is something a lot of other modular stl packs overlook tbh

Love the module crab people. I would like even more crab people. I’m just thrilled with them. I like the multiple poses. I feel like having multiple poses adds value with less modeling work, if these are made as rigged characters, but I don’t know how you work. I don’t care much about busts. Busts do me little or no good, as I just don’t paint em.

The different poses for the characters is great. Could be lots of fun for NPCs who are just talking, then go into combat. The modular troops are a FANTASTIC idea. Having bought modular troops before, they are my favorite kind of files to print

Gabriel Graves

I'm really loving what the both of you came up with this month (as usual ;) ). Though I do really enjoy the alternate pose for the characters, and the modular units are very fun!
