To read! Going forward, starting September!

Hello everyone!

We have important informations for you!

Starting September (even though it kinda was the case this month already), we'll be tweaking a bit our way of working and remolding the shape of our releases!

The past months weren't really as succesfull as we hoped, and the pressure and stress from it started to get too much, so we took time to really think about it, and we settled on this plan to refresh our work! (you can see that the banner has changed already :D )
Each month, (for now) you'll get :

-A set of 5+ miniatures : can be monsters, allies (like the current dwarf guards), foes. Sometimes modular if it's a good idea for the theme! Each miniatures will still be unique in a way, be it small gear changes, faces, hairs, armor etc. This is mostly aimed at putting several combat minis on the table without looking too boring.

-2+ uniques NPCs : These will be most likely civilian looking, characters that can give quests, help the players, be important characters in a game etc

-2 unique heroes / players characters : These ones will not be civilian looking, we're aiming at miniatures that can clearly be played as heroes!

-Some props / sceneries : These will matchs the release theme, can be small scatters, props, weapons..

We'll start from here, and grow over time, as we know we can handle this! We're excited about it, and I hope you will too!

Please remember that sharing our Patreon around is the best way for us to get following and to be able to continue what we're doing! If you can and wish to, please share your prints / paintjobs on social medias!

To be honest, last month was a huge drop, and  compared to the amount of hours we spend working, we can't take too many month like this again unfortunately. And believe me, we REALLY want to continue doing this! We have so many ideas and things we want to do! The range is far from finished!

Thanks again so much everyone for the support for a bit more than 2 years now!

Thanks! All minis are baseless! Bit easier for supports, and as people might use their own bases, we offer only baseless so it's not double the amount of support work!

Its a good idea. I like the look of the future for you. Lets just hope I'm right ;) Seriously, good choice. I think. On a side note, are you going to be doing baseless mini or based or a combination of both, Based are good for my games, but baseless are good for my dioramas. Actually, It would be nice if they were all baseless, with matching bases to be glued on by the user.

Adding previous release and coupon in the tier itself each month? I totally understand and that's fair! But there are Patreons doing a LOT of minis, and some doing a lot of props. Staying in the middle is really rough!

I joined because I wanted more terrain type pieces. What about adding scenery from previous releases or offering a great coupon code to buy previous releases on MMF. Personally for me loosing the terrain would be a deal breaker.

I get it. The limit with support less must be pretty frustrating. I really hate the resin printer process, so I stopped using it. Terrain is still really satisfying to make. I think folks who want support less will find those patreons, and the more elaborate minis will always be around. I hope resin gets a bit less time consuming. I think when it gets cooler around here I'll do some of these pre supported ones. The slicer always crashes on me, so that really bugs me.

Enrique Avalos

Thanks for the kind words! And sorry that we kinda left behind the supportless minis, but it started to be limitated art wise, and we felt a bit stuck with it, when all the other creators aren't limitated by it :/

I love your work and enjoy your minis. I hope you guys the best. I plan to stick around for a while. I left all my other mini Patreon’s because it was just too much. You two were my first so I kept you to see where it all goes. I still actually print your support less minis each month.

Enrique Avalos

And even without polls, we still managed to have similar themes haha!! It's indeed a bit tricky! We'll see how it goes! Just NPCs the past few months wasn't enough, and we lost lot of people, so let's see how the future goes!!

I'm looking forward to seeing what comes. I think part of the issue is it seems every couple months almost every stl company has a very similiar theme. In june i think 4 of my patreons all released a hell or devil theme.... and the same for pirates. Probably saw 6 or more pirate themed releases. I think your strength is really lively and colorful NPC types that other companies aren't interested in making.

great idea

Thank you!! Yeah I prefer things that are easier to put on the table and might see more use!

Me too :D Thanks a lot!!

I'm interested to see how this works out

Sounds excellent! I love what you're doing and I like the idea of groups of individuals! I also prefer the small scatter so I'm glad that's where your scatter focus will be.

Excellent idea!!

I'm glad you've made a change. I was worried about the pressure you must have been under the last few months. We all want you to keep making these fantastic minis, without burning out :)

Donna Crawford

Thank you! Hmm unfortunately, no promises on that one! If a mini can easily be supportless, it'll be, but I don't think we'll force it, it's quite limitating art wise! I know we started being almost full supportless, but the market shifted, and so did we! Almost all biggest creators are not limited by supportless, and we don't want to be neither. Resin printers are cheaper and cheaper, and I do as best as possible for our supports to not fail!

Love the idea, I’ve been a long time follower of your work, and always love your supoortless miniatures. On that note, do you have any plans on the number of supportless miniatures for each month? I love the ease of printing they bring and is the main reason for me to support you that month

Thanks! That's why I might focus on small to medium max sized sceneries, nothing huge that takes a long time to print, mostly scatters and props. The time commitment is smaller, and also it takes less time for me to do. They sell well on MMF, but for sure it's not as big as miniatures.

Welcome here then :D Thank you!! Of course, it's our full time job, and if it's not fun for us it'll show in the long run! Hopefuly people will like the new system!!

Thank you :D And thanks for your support and comments on most of our posts!!

Thanks! Center place mayyyybe not that much, I don't think it can be more than the miniatures, and we are just two. We have less than 40 people being there at the 5usd tier, so it's not the biggest priority it seems, BUT, I'll try my best to offer cool stuff as it's still an important part of the release obviously! It'll be a juggling job in the next few months, we'll see how people react to release, and what to adjust!

Seems like a great idea. As much as I love the scenery I usually got more use out of the minis. Love the idea to have the group of minis to make things look varied in the tabletop

Changes for stability are good. Hoping that the scenery/scatter plans will have a more front and center place though.

Brand new subscriber here; I'm glad that you are so invested in your Patreon as to continue to iterate and innovate in order to keep it thriving. I'm looking forward to seeing what's to come!

This new strategy sounds fun! I'm looking forward to what comes out of this (hopefully many new followers)! Best of luck!!

Exactly!! That's the plan :D You'll see with future posts, but we'll have fun around the lore of our releases, kinda like what we did back in 2019 (no stats or rules though, we don't have the skill haha) ! They'll totally be encounter ready if people wish to do so!

This new system sounds great. This is a great way to make cool miniatures for RPG games or even skirmish games. You get a group of 5 allies or foes (who can be mirrored or possibly equipped differently) to give you 10 or more variations. You get a couple NPC miniatures and a couple hero miniatures. It's a perfect episodic system. Each month can be one or more encounters (with bespoke props) and after that your miniature arsenal for future games has added a nice selection of various types of characters.

Scavvon

We will be on it when we have access to it, and still on Patreon too!

I was half expecting you to say you would be moving to MMF's new Tribes. Not sure how much supposed to say about it, but saw it on Lion Tower.
