Here is the 1st gnoll warrior, almost finished, that you'll get in December! Hands are still in T-pose though!

I’ll buy that. I don’t like to have all orcs be evil either. There are some uncomfortable aspects of “evil races in fantasy” for sure. The gnolls I’ve used are just more, ah, “hyena adjacent” I guess. For what it’s worth, my orcs are hard to live with because of cultural forces, and gnolls have other cultural forces that have made them not very good neighbors. I resist “evil by birth” but I don’t have much trouble with “their parents taught them some messed up traditions.” I don’t follow Critical Role or run a campaign informed by it other than osmosis- it’s successful enough that some aspect of it probably finds it’s way in. I can completely accept gnolls as citizens in town. It wouldn’t be likely in my campaign, but scavenging stuff from unsuccessful adventurers would.

If you're running a Critical Role campaign, then Gnolls are part of the populace in one of the towns, Turst Fields. I certainly like to blur the lines between Gnolls and Orcs being 'bad', they're just defending themselves from others trying to steal from them.

2022-11-11 02:59:45 +0000 UTCThat is so good! One thing occurs to me: he’s got a glass potion on his belt. Do gnolls have glass blowers? Did he steal it? Would they use rough clay bottles instead of glass, maybe a coil pot? Maybe a wine akin or an animal bladder? I don’t know, maybe gnolls are more capable than I think usually. In my campaign, they aren’t inclined to trade or care, and would soon break anything fragile. Maybe these are different. In any case, I love that you’re doing gnolls, and this one looks fantastic!
