You're starting to win me over a tiny bit with your various time theories, now I wanna suggest one possibility is that Jayce has been posessed by a time traveling version of himself who caused an entire apocalypse, but "our" less traumatized Jayce isn't fully sold on his other self's extreme measures, OR PERHAPS THE SPIRIT OF MAGIC ITSELF IS POSESSING HIM TO PERSONALLY COLLECT THE DEBTS OF ALL THE STOLLEN MIRACLES THAT WEREN'T PROPERLY PAID FOR?
