Arcane: League of Legends Season 2 Episode 9 Reaction (Full-length Watch Along)

Heavily agree!! Vi’s willingness to NOT give up on her family is what’s makes Her Vi and is also her character flaw, Jinx saw that and with the popular theory being she faked her own death probably cemented why she had to go, she had to walk away.

For me, Vi and Jinx where the main reason I liked season one. Victor and Ekko went from meh to being in my top five characters in season 2. I like Cait up until she started gassing the poor and got easily pushed into being the figurehead of a military dictatorship. Honestly, the fact that Vi and her broke up the first time because Vi didn't let her shoot a kid is like the most cop reason why you would break up with a cop. Edit: Vi's thing isn't so much she's not capable of giving up Vander. It's that she can't let go of her family. The entire act two-three of season one is her trying despertly to get Jinx back, which is why her flip flopping in the start of season two only to then go back in act two of season two again is really weird. I think where the show started to mishandle the story was around act two of season two. You get these really good personal moments (Ekko's alt universe, jix vi and their little family again at the commune) but it feels like the zaun/piltover plot get's put on hold for them. Then you come back and instead it's a Nox invasion now. Nox got used as a scapegoat for the Piltover/Zaun plot which is why the ending felt really wishy washy with how that got resolved. It felt like at some point things started happening so that the writers could tie up everything neatly without it having interal consitancy (once again Vi flip flopping so much, Cait becoming a military police facist only to cut it out like the next episode, the firefly plot etc.) I don't really agree with how the PoC of color characters are treated though. Like, they aren't killed disporpornatly compared to white ones and they don't suffer more than white characters either. Sveta's arc got mishandled but so did every single side character (The strike team, ekko's bat friend whose name I can't remember, the surving concil, etc.) The only PoC character that felt like an assosorry to a white character's arc was Sky, but she doesn't die either. She lives inside magic itself, she just left Victor once he started go all evil god savior on her. Also, at the end Cait was looking at the blueprints for where Jinx "died," there was another shaft under there that jinx could've used to escaped, which is heavily implied to have happened. It's why she smiles while holding one of Jinx's bombs. The last shot is a call back to where Jinx said she wanted to ride an airship one day (The airship Vi was looking at leave implied to be the one Jinx is on) the end card is Jinx's grafity too.
