ASTG: Chapter 31

Raoh put his hand on his chin as he gave his back to everyone. 

June just had revealed that her pet, Nyla, is locked somewhere under the ground with the Waterbender from the South.

Okay, this is three years post canon, and in the canon, there was only one Waterbender from the South. 

Now… these were some good news to know that Katara is alive, and somewhere locked down, and according to Raoh, she seemed to be quite powerful to force his genius niece to hunt her down herself. 

If he takes her with him, Katara, plus Toph and Zuko and frees the Avatar, then attempting to master all of the elements should go smooth with all the elements masters around. 

Raoh had considered going to Fire Nation and trying to assassinate the king himself. 

However, that won’t solve anything. 

Simply, because someone else will take his place, or many will try. And the world will become worse. 

But if the Avatar took the Fire Lord down, nothing will happen. Simply, because the Avatar was a symbol of balance and power. No one will try to make war with him around. 

“What are you thinking of?” Zuko asked. 

It was obvious by now that Raoh was the leader of the trip. He barely listens to anyone and does whatever he wants. 

“We’ll take the Waterbender with us,” Raoh said as he took his Katana and unsheathed it. “And Nyla too. 

“Yeah, you missed one detail.” Zuko pointed. “We don’t know where they are.” 

Toph smirked widely and Raoh smiled too. 

“June, did they mention where they are exactly.” 

“No. It’s somewhere near, under the ground. It should be within a kilometre radius.” June said as she put her hands on her hips. “By the way, does anyone has a whip.” 

No one answered her. 

Toph started tapping with her feet on the ground and walking. 

Raoh sat down on his knees and closed his eyes, unleashing his Observation Haki. In black paint, he could see everything, every angle around him, and every living creature in white silhouettes forms. 

His Observation Haki was so strong. As it seems, his spiritual power and his mastery over it in his previous life were so strong that he could cover a whole island when he focus on scanning. 

Under the ground, he could feel some strong spirits. A red silhouette of a blind monster appeared, and next to it was a chained woman in a good shape, but she was quite skinny. 

Raoh felt something strange about the aura of the woman. 

She was surrounded by something that weakened her, something very hot and making the air vaporise. 

“They are under the ground, surrounded by a furnace…” Raoh said as he stoop up. 

“Yep, I just found a gate heading there,” Toph said as she smiled. She then walked to Raoh and touched him. “By the way, can you sense the underground too?” 

“No.” Raoh shook his head. “I’m like a seer. I’m like you, but different in the kind of the sense I’m using. You can see through touching.” 

“And you? How can you.” Toph seemed to feel more curious about Raoh. After all, it was rare to see someone not using their eyes, and could see far. 

“Sixth sense. It’s complicated to explain. It’s more like explaining what’s sound to a deaf person.” Raoh cracked his neck and started taking off the armour of the Fire Nation. 

“Wow… that’s like explaining colour to me.” Toph smiled. 

“At least you know black,” Raoh said. 

“It’s the only thing my eyes can perceive.” 

“Don’t push yourself too far.” 

“I’m not a disable,” Toph said as if she was annoyed. 

“I’m not hinting at that,” Raoh said, now wearing a black robe. 

“So, are we going together?” Zuko interrupted as he couldn’t handle the conversation. 

“We won’t,” Raoh said. “I’m going alone.” 

“But, Nyla will not listen to you,” June said. 

“Oh, she will.” Raoh was certain. “I will make her.” 

Raoh took a deep breath. Before anyone could say anything, he told them. “Now, I’ll be back soon.” 

He squatted, and the next second he vanished from sight. Toph just moved her head in one direction, and everyone followed her. They could see a trail of dust rising with Raoh’s silhouette barely noticeable because it was far, it was dark, and he was wearing dark clothes. 

Raoh was using Shave many times in Row. It put some burden on his body, but it was nothing. He could handle it, and he wouldn’t be damaged by it. So he could take the pain. 

Soon, he reached one spot, 500 meters away from the Iron Prison, and he stood above the earth. It seems that they would need an Earth Bender to access under the ground. Raoh simply didn’t. He put his hands in the earth, held well, and pulled up. A huge rock was lifted and put to the side, revealing a large iron gate. 

Of course, there were many entrees. But this one seemed to be the quietest one. With his Haki, he could feel some guards down. Lifting the iron gate easily, Raoh jumped in and closed the door behind him. He held his sword and unsheathed it. He didn’t like what he was going to do. After all, the guards he was going to face are just doing their job, not like the people who tried to kill him, or stood in the way of his freedom. 

But sometimes, one must do what he doesn’t like, just to get what he likes. 

If you were offered a nice house for a cheap price, you can’t simply refuse because you don’t want to fix the toilet. 

Walking in a quite large hall, Raoh made some silent steps, his sword pointed to the side.  In front of him, some chatting soldiers appeared, and upon noticing up, they flinched. He ran toward them, and he gave them a few slashes that made them fall with blood gashing.
