2024-02-24 10:38:23 +0000 UTCOK so I did my homework like the f*cking nerd I am and season 6 Episode 5 of Snog Marry Avoid is in fact a wholesome piece of television purely by accident. It's basically an accidental episode of Queer Eye, except instead of like middle-aged family man running a kitten rescue started by his dead wife, our makeover girl Jo just survived high school undergoing a male puberty, which is honestly about as difficult I'd say. Frankly if I could've had a coming out stylist I'd consider it too. It's very much a reality TV show from early 2010 aimed at teens and young adults; the language is super outdated like to explain what a transgender is, they go "Oh, a Girl trapped in a Boy's body? There's nothing wrong with that, but why do you look like a mideval taven wench?". Also one of the hosts has their voice altered and the play character who is like a style Robot when we thought AI was gonna be like sexy ladies telling us cold facts of life while a Hal 9000 led flickers. She basically she had a really campy phase because she was tired of hiding from bullies and also pretending to be a lad. They keep describing her previous look as "fake" because the straights and the cises still haven't learned what camp is, but one of the cuts they made for YouTube is aggressively like "FAKE GIRL gets a makeUNDER" which HAD ME WORRIED but it was fine. It's kinda fun but it's basically just - trans girl learns she is hot in business casual.
