Dev Log: Oliver, Linda, and Optimization
Added 2024-06-18 18:58:11 +0000 UTCβ Hey everyone! Before the new update launches, I wanted to share what Iβve been working on. This post will be a long one, but it will be divided into topics, so feel free to scroll down and read the parts that interest you the most.
Stories that will continue in 1.60b
Oliver:
Oliver is receiving three new quests in his π€ route. Two are more slice-of-life quests with different choices and scenes, and the last one is more story-focused. How you interact with Oliver will "lock" you into a specific type of relationship at the end of his content in this update. I recommend saving your progress, but don't worry too much; you'll be able to change your relationship later if you change your mind.Linda:
Linda's story was initially planned as one big quest, but I decided to split it into three parts to explore each scene more thoroughly. The first part, which you've already seen, involves her sister appearing and discovering your relationship with Linda. In the second part that we are now, a new situation will happen, leading to various small quests and scenes until the main issue reaches a conclusion.
Poll Results
Night Scenes: As you progress through her new quest, you'll unlock more nighttime scenes with Linda. This was the second most voted option with 36%.
Mayazon Items: At the end of Linda's quest, you'll unlock more items to buy on Mayazon, which was the most voted option with 41%.
Most Voted: The grinding in the game is becoming annoying (39%).
Second Most Voted: The game has a little grinding, but I donβt mind (37%).
I have plans to add more resources and attributes to balance the game better, but let's talk just about money in this devlog, as it is what I use the most.
Uses of Money in the Game
Main Content:
Quests and Exploration: Some Quests require money to progress, encouraging you to explore game mechanics and watch different scenes instead of just focusing on the quests offering a break.
Outside the Main Content:
Mayazon and πΉ : These are extra content that improve existing scenes. They require some grinding to unlock, but I do keep in mind that too much grinding makes them lose a sense of accomplishment.
Planned Adjustments
Lust Garden: Will be the simplest way to earn money early on to progress in character quests. It will remain costly, using all your energy but providing more money at once.
Workplaces: The most efficient way to earn money, but it requires buying food around town and some management. You'll earn more than in Lust Garden, so I'll rebalance earnings and costs for food and bus tickets.
Changes Depending on Circumstances: Introducing more ways to restore energy in the big city and having players go straight to bed after visiting Lust Garden to prevent restoring energy and doing multiple times in a day.
Tip: Money + can be a little expensive on Maya points, but itβs really useful and snowballs easily, making you earn way more money in the long run.
