Burn, Baby, Burn!
Added 2022-08-23 10:27:13 +0000 UTCTonight the fire alarms went off in our apartment complex for no reason, but thoughts of the fire brigade and flames made me think about an idea for a shoot that I've always thought would be interesting.
Obviously, like all my shoots it would involve male nudes but either fire twirling or surrounded by, and illuminated by fire.
Now, the tricky part is that fire is an ever evolving and shifting light source. To freeze it and make it clear you need a fast shutter speed but that also reduces the amount of light you get going into the camera. So a shoot using JUST fire as the source of light is very difficult but mixing fire and another source of light could potentially create some very cool effects.
Fun fact, the main image in this story is actually someone I went to Burning Man festival with 11 years ago. He and his then partner were very adventurous camping and hiking guys and would always strip off for skinny-dipping, taking photos and just relaxing. My kinda guys. As you can see, Garet looked great doing it.
