Oh the memories
Added 2022-11-24 09:19:45 +0000 UTCWay back in 2009 I wasn't shooting as often as I am now. Photography was very much a hobby that didn't fill as much of my time as it does now. I met James here through a friend who was also one of my models, Jonathan. They knew each other through bodybuilding.
As you can see, James definitely hit the gym. He was 23 at the time of these photographs if I remember correctly. He probably wouldn't have admitted it at the time but it definitely wasn't all natural. James was a bit of a troubled soul and an all-or-nothing personality. Jonathan told me in the lead up to a competition they had a challenge against each other but the pressure of the competition got to James and he binged on $70 worth of McDonalds three days out and ruined all his preparation.
These shots were taken in the back streets of Darlinghurst in Sydney and at one point some Mormon guys here on mission walked past. They didn't know what to make of it but they did stop for a photo with James.
Shortly after we were in a more public part of the street and James was only in underwear when some police drove past. They had a chuckle and light-heartedly but sincerely told him to put some pants on.
