Over the years I have from time to time stepped in front of the camera for photographer friends. It's a daunting task but one that can also be a lot of fun. I've often said that I believe everyone should pose nude at some stage in their life. It becomes less about how you see yourself and more how the photographer or the artist sees you.
Last night I had quite the role reversal with one of my models. You all know him as Charlie Dee. His artist name is David Charles Collins and I shared one of his video pieces last week.
He is also working towards an exhibition. His work is very different to mine, full of references to mythology and iconography. It was a lot of fun to hand myself over to him instead of the other way around. I was nude, dusted with glitter, blindfolded and dripping in fake blood referencing the story of Oedipus who plucked his own eyes out.
David works in film so only took 24 photos on medium format film and it may be some time before I see the result but knowing David and knowing his vision, I'm sure it will be great. I just hope I did him justice.
