So much still to learn

On Sunday I got up early to pick up some friends to do a shoot for my exhibition. This was a long time in the planning and after a failed attempt a month or so ago so I was anxious. It feels like I'm running out of time for these outdoor exhibition shoots. The weather is cooling off here and even though Saturday was sunny and warm, Sunday was cloudy.

Perhaps if we'd waited til later in the day we might have had better luck but it was another failed attempt. I'm still trying to work out why we couldn't make it work and I think because of the low, even light the focus couldn't lock on, therefore the camera wouldn't take a photo.

My theory is that I need brighter light preferably from above to penetrate the water and create some contrast which gives the focus something to lock on to.

I have so much to learn about underwater photography. One day I might feel confident but at the moment I just need to not get frustrated, and enjoy the challenge.
