Smooth Operation
Added 2023-07-11 08:30:01 +0000 UTCEvery now and then a model will ask me if I have any requirements on what they do with body hair or facial hair, in the lead up to a shoot. Honestly, if there is no important reason or concept behind it, they get to do whatever they like. It's their body and their style after all.
It's only when I have a need for a certain look that I'll ask for them to do something in particular. When I photographed Charlie for needed to look like a sex toy cyborg so I asked him to shave his pubic hair off.
Like most photographers, I have my own preferences. Paul Freeman likes his models totally un-groomed. On the other hand, I would generally prefer smooth over hairy. Whether that is totally smooth or not, maybe. I get that it's a polarising topic with a lot of people very enthusiastic about hair.
