Billy is a model that I'd spoken to for a while but he was away working as a dancer in Japan. I hadn't really known how I was going to do photograph him but when he said he was coming home to Australia to visit his family I jumped at the opportunity to work with him.
The idea came to me that he might be a bit of a Lost Boy in the Australian bush. We won't over analyse that concept because there isn't much more to it than that. I had ordered a blanket online for this vague idea that was in my head, of Billy with his beautiful pale skin, draped in the blanket to stay warm while looking lost and vulnerable.
On the day I picked Billy up really early for the 45 minute drive followed by a 15 minute walk to the location. I've shot in this spot a few times now but it's looked different each time due to the time of day, time of year and weather.
Billy has this intriguing look that I loved photographing. A strong body from his dancing and a face that looks angelic and cherubic but also masculine and strong at the same time.
Fingers crossed one day I get to work with him again.
