Sweaty bonding
Added 2023-07-29 23:00:01 +0000 UTCAlthough I'm writing this a few weeks in the past, by the time you are reading this I will hopefully have experienced the traditional Finnish sauna, as it was intended. Nude and surrounded by other nude men. It's a scene that seems titillating to those of us from countries not used to social nudity but for the Finnish people it's ritualistic, traditional and very natural.
Meetings are held in saunas, it was a social event and in centuries gone by, a bathing exercise and something done for health. Friends and family would sit in quiet contemplation in the sauna then cool off with a beer outside, potentially after swimming in an ice cold lake or rolling in snow.
I think it would be a challenging but beautiful photographic exercise. Trying to capture the beautiful simplicity, and yes sexiness of male nude bonding, dripping in sweat then frolicking in snow or cold water. Maybe I'll have to come back in the winter months to truly experience it.
