The story of Ricardo
Added 2023-09-14 08:31:00 +0000 UTCBack in February 2018 I did this photoshoot with Ricardo who was at the time relatively new to Sydney. We had been introduced through another model of mine and organised this simple beach shoot. You might recognise him from the "sequel" released early 2022 Ricardo Returns.To be honest I'm surprised that sequel was already so long ago.
In this first shoot, Ricardo was posing quite happily with everything on display. Obviously that was fine by me. Sadly he said later that we couldn't publish the full frontal images. I'll always respect a model's decision but I'd prefer to focus on shooting the imagery I can release. Now that he's gone frontal in the second shoot, maybe I should ask if I can release a special frontal edition?
Ricardo was a bit more reserved on the first shoot. He hadn't really been nude in front of a camera before but from what I've seen on twitter, he's certainly over that shyness but you can see his cheeky side trying to break free when he looks at the camera.
It was a bit of an overcast day down there at La Perouse but as long as the clouds aren't too heavy it makes for beautiful soft lighting that I love. By the time I colour graded the images to a slightly desaturated look and balanced out shadows, we ended up with a series that I really liked.
Maybe it's time to get Ricardo to do an In My Bed shoot.
