The story of Viking!

James was a friend of a friend and very much fits the bill of the rugged, original Viking looking guy. He could happily be cast in the series and fit right in. When I do a shoot with any kind of theme I try not to be too literal with my references otherwise it looks like a nude Halloween.
James was ok to do his own braids for the shoot and I got hold of some pieces of fake fur and strips of leather cord which we used alongside some white clay.
This shoot was a bit of a surprise for me. I didn't really know James at all and didn't know how comfortable he was with full frontal nudity or being in front of a camera at all. So when he got in the studio, painted up and started to just give some really dynamic poses without a care in the world about nudity, it became a really fun shoot. It was James that started whipping his hair around and giving all the ferocious energy expected of a viking.
Some guys can express a whole lot of emotion barely moving a muscle. James was slightly moving his eyebrow or settling his jaw into a certain position and it would give such an intensity. Sadly James and his sexy beefy body have left the country and this will likely be the only shoot with him.
