Out of my comfort zone
Added 2024-01-26 06:15:09 +0000 UTCIn the past I have stepped in front of the camera for some photographers and artists that I know but it had been some time. As I get older and more critical of my aging body it's harder to take that leap.
That was until just over a year ago when David Charles Collins, one of my mates and also one of my models (by another name) asked if I would be up for a shoot for him. I love his work and his creativity so I obviously said yes. I trust him implicitly.
We did a shoot based on the old myth of Oedipus who plucks his eyes out after learning that someone he'd slept with was his mother. The shoot was quite interesting because David works on film and only shot 24 frames and I also had no idea what I was doing because I was blindfolded.
Am I trying to let go of my body issues and not be too critical of myself? Absolutely. Am I wondering where my balls went? Yes indeed. Do I love these images? Hell yes.
