I'm old enough that when I was studying graphic design we learnt to do things by hand. There are a million techniques that I'm glad I learnt but have not been used since my course which I finished 30 years ago.
One of those techniques was life drawing. I'm not sure I've done any real drawing since I finished in 1993 but when a friend said he was doing an 8 week life drawing course I jumped at the chance to do it with him. I love the idea of drawing but lack the patience that really helps it. My drawing and painting style was always too restrained for most art tastes, hence my arrival at a career of graphic design.
Last night was the first class of the course and I have to say I had an absolute ball. Looking at the drawings I did, above, you can tell I'm no Michelangelo but I don't think I did too badly considering the 30 year gap and my complete lack of interaction with the female body.
The hilarious part of the night was when the model arrived and it was a woman that I did circus classes with several years ago.
