In the aftermath of my MANYONE exhibition, I'm starting to find myself looking for my next challenge. My photography feels like it's branching off in two separate directions which may not be that apparent to the outside viewer but in my head I'm seeing myself still really enjoying photographing and producing the downloads which I hope you are all still loving.
The other direction I'm exploring, mostly in my head at this stage, is the more conceptual photography that started with the exhibition. There are so many ideas floating around in my brain, from more photo montage work to combining other multimedia effects with my photography somehow. Whatever I do I really don't want to be cliched about it.
I have only done two classes of my life drawing course but it's reignited something I had long forgotten or abandoned. To be honest I'm not sure how great I ever was at drawing but I'm loving it. Tonight, searching for inspiration on Youtube I discovered this Australian artist who goes by Kelogsloops. He is a much more accomplished at painting and drawing than I will ever be but just watching him inspires me.
There is no deadline for me to have another exhibition or decide on my direction. There are a lot of photographers who are known for a particular style and stay true to it but I always feel compelled to mix things up which may make me less sellable but it makes me happy.
