Adding more strings?
Added 2024-11-13 08:08:15 +0000 UTCThis week at work we had some bad news. We have lost the client that I work on which is one of the big accounts my company has which means that potentially about 15 of us may lose our jobs by the end of March, if not before.
I quite like having a full time job that I enjoy that keeps me in rent and food but also enables me enough time and energy to pursue passions like photography. With that in mind obviously finding a new job is my goal but it's also forcing me to think about other revenue streams. This channel would need to grow a lot before I could survive from it. Another option is to do some research and see if any of my travel photos, from past and future trips, could be sold through stock image websites.
I'd have to up my game a bit because while I think I have taken some pretty good photos while travelling I would have taken a bit more care and made more effort if the end goal was selling.

Have you considered teaching, it seems to me that you have quite a special angle. There are many that would bite your hand off. You provide the model, doesn't have to be is Australia, the worlds your oyster. If that's too bigger step why not approach schools, colleges and universities. A lot of teachers don't have the commercial experience that you have, which is valuable if at the end you are sending students out in to the real world?
