After sharing the wallpaper image on Tuesday I thought I'd share the story behind the shoot.
In October of 2014 I had photographed a guy called Greg and as usual I had started following him on Instagram. A few months later he posted a photo on his page with some mates and one of them was the lovely Mitch so I asked Greg about him, added Mitch on instagram and sent him a message to see if he'd be interested in doing a shoot. I think it was a few weeks later when Mitch, his girlfriend and another mate all turned up at my place to chat about what I wanted etc.
Mitch had never done a shoot before, let alone nude but his very fun, sassy girlfriend was really keen for him to do it. To sweeten the deal I offered to do some couple shots of both of them. So, we were set to go. We got up early and we drove to the National Park south of Sydney to a place called Wattamolla where there is a beautiful lagoon and this little wooded area. I had hired an old crown from a costume hire place and bought a velvety blanket with the vague concept that Mitch would be a petulant Prince who didn't want responsibility and ran off into the forest.
The blanket we had was actually a dusky pale pink but I wanted it to be more royal and a rich red so I retouched that and I also emphasised Mitch's red hair and pale skin. You can see the original colouring in one of the images above.
Mitch and his girlfriend are now married with their second child on the way. They are absolutely lovely people too.
