The conversation starts again
Added 2025-03-17 07:26:42 +0000 UTCOn March 31st my position at work will be made redundant after our company lost a few significant clients. There have already been redundancies and there are a few others finishing at the same time as me, more will follow.
What does this have to do with my photography you ask? Well, in the months since we found out that we were losing the client I work on, I have been trying to decide whether or not photography could be grown to be my full time career. Part of that conversation has been once again deliberating over Onlyfans.
My questions are about whether it would affect people's perception of my work, whether it would even make me enough money to take that chance and how many models would be willing to do work suitable?
If I do take up the challenge I may do some full-on adult content as I already dip my toe in that arena anyway, but I would also be making sure it's beautiful and not the more typical style of adult content on the platform.
Can I get some honest thoughts and opinions from you all on your thoughts, concerns, ideas etc? I really want to know. Pretty please.

It seems to me that the question is not if but when, I have heard of quite a lot of stories on TV where people have made a decent living with OnlyFans. At one point I was very much against only fans because I thought it encouraged exploitation for financial gain, but perhaps my supposition was naïve and wrong. But above all, I do believe that an artist has a right to proper payment for their skills. I have been a Patreon of yours for many years and you have covered quite a lot of genres with your work already. Who says that you cannot adapt and make your work on OnlyFans beautiful. It is worth giving it ago at least. I personally find your work to be beautiful and tasteful, you could look at OnlyFans as a challenge. I know in the past that there have been comments from Patreon members wanting more erections and a bit more gratuitous nudity and titillation. So no, I do not think you would lose your own style or sell out by doing OnlyFans, I would be willing to give it ago if you decided that that is what you wanted to do, and it is where your future is. Above all we trust you. Just one question though? would you still do you magazine like downloads that we all love and know?

I think the post about Leo is a perfect example of that sweet spot - videos of the shoots? The video with Charlie is another great example. I think seeing the models increasingly enjoying the modeling, so to speak, is a unique niche. I can’t say how you could best monetize it unfortunately
