Did A.I. ruin a dream shoot?

We all know that I have a wish list of celebrities that I want to photograph. One of those is Olympic gold medalist, Matthew Mitcham. In the dream scenario where I have the studio of my dreams, I know exactly how I want to photograph him.

I thought it might be interesting to try using A.I. (Midjourney) to see if I could storyboard the idea and give it a virtual test run. The thing with A.I. is, it's all about the prompt and how clear you are so I gave it some pretty specific details but as you can see from the images above, it didn't all go to plan.

The photo I have in my head is a fairly large studio, with a black backdrop that seamlessly transitions into a base that has a few inches of water in an elliptical pool. In the centre of that pool is a sphere or egg shaped object that is white. Then Matthew would be nude on that object. For a hero image I imagine Matthew is doing a handstand nude and there is water raining down on him and the pool.

As you can see from the A.I. attempts above, turning a body upside down seems to mess with it's brain and different parts of the body are completely back to front. There are abs on the back, the legs are facing the other way to the torso and a whole lot of other nonsense.

Should I show this to Matthew to see what he says? Or has A.I. killed a dream shoot?

Did A.I. ruin a dream shoot? Did A.I. ruin a dream shoot?

Comments

I don't think it has killed the dream, rather that it should fire the dream into reality because clearly AI is lacking what a real photographer and model can achieve.
