Vezriel also sends Laz a curious glance. Laz ignores all their attention as they stride to the table, their back straight and expression calm. They have had more than five decades to master the art of keeping their composure, and it pays off.
But the truth is different. They don’t feel like they are anywhere near being calm.
The others don’t need to know that, of course. And they won’t.
This story starts slightly before the ending and touches a bit on the ending itself. The other part of Laz’s (and the other characters’) reactions (with their POVs) will be in the next chapter right at the beginning, so I didn’t touch on it here. You’ll have to wait if you want more :)
