Canonically, after the events of Night Runner, Hyeok Soo help Miyeong help fend off her abusive ex-husband from stalking her. He also seizes the opportunity to just waltz in her life and move in with her. He's very much spoiled by her cooking and sewing skills. His work in underground gambling go places is taxing but he finds solace in her care.
