Weyes Blood - A Lots Gonna Change Synthesia Version

I tried to go back and create a version similar to the one on the Petrof. I hope you find this helpful!

Weyes Blood - A Lots Gonna Change Synthesia Version

Hi, Joshua. I found you recently on Youtube. I'm a huge fan of Sufjan Stevens and really enjoyed your arrangements of a few of his songs. I wonder if you'd give "John My Beloved" a shot, from the album "Carrie and Lowell." If not this, maybe "Olympus" from the album "A Beginner's Mind"? Whenever I try to play his music, I end up attempting note-by-note arrangements that are awkward to play (I actually notate them). I suppose i do this because his arrangements are unique and I don't want to let go of anything. In "John My Beloved" there is a constant inverted pedal – a D4 tap, tap, tapping. I play this with my LH thumb and the chords below it only on the downbeat with my remaining fingers, freeing up my RH for the melody and anything else. It gets a bit awkward in the LH (there's a tenth in there), but I'm able to finesse it better the more I play it. Somehow, though, I'm not quite satisfied. What I'd like to be able to do is to let go even a little bit of my need to capture the piece exactly as it is, while still maintaining its hypnotizing, flowing quality. Thanks for any thoughts.
