Updates: 30-day billing freeze and the plan moving forward!

Hey bros,

I’m sorry you haven’t heard from me in a while. Life has been, in a nutshell…crazy. I’ve started a new full time career in a totally different industry (and have had to travel a bunch because of that), and have had some personal/family stuff going on as well.

Excuses aside, I feel awful that I haven’t published new content in so long. Truth be told I’m reassessing whether, in the long run, I’ll be able to live up to the content and activity promises I made associated with each tier. I had the best of intentions when I created those tiers, but my ADHD “time blindness” means that I’m consistently awful at estimating how long things take me, and often significantly overestimate how much I can accomplish. The result is that I get overwhelmed and my creative flow completely ceases.

All that said, here’s the plan:

1. I am pausing billing for everyone for the next 30 days to give myself some breathing room . When I create and post new content over the next month, you won’t be charged - any new content will be ”free” as recompense for my lack of activity last month. You’ll still be able to access existing content.  Please keep in mind that new patrons cannot subscribe while billing is paused! If you cancel during the billing freeze, you won’t be able to resubscribe until that freeze is over. 

2. If you don’t believe that’s sufficient, I understand. Please message me individually, and I will refund your last payment.

3. Patreon now offers “per creation” billing, which means that patrons set a “cap” for their monthly payments, but only get charged at the end of each billing cycle for the content that I actually post during that cycle. It seems really cool, and like it would be a great option! However, based on the date I created my Patreon account, it looks as though I may not be able to switch my billing model.  I’ve contacted Patreon for clarification, and will keep you updated! Unfortunately, there’s a chance that in order to take advantage of per creation billing, I will need to create a new Patreon page and shut this one down.  I don’t want to get ahead of myself though, so stay tuned!

I’ll end by once again apologizing and ensuring you that, when I launched this page, I had complete faith in my ability to meet the promises I made for each tier.  I love making audio when I'm able to do it, and I'm really hoping to find a way to keep this Patreon going while lessening the pressure on myself to always be creating...bc that's clearly not working at all 😂
