I've been watching footage of people visiting the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser interactive hotel experience RPG...uh...thing. I think I heard that it was hideously expensive and Disney recently stopped offering it. That's too bad, it looks impressive and the people in the vids seem to be having fun. I guess I always identify more with the people working at places like that than I do with the guests. (Probably because that's the only way I'm likely to ever wind up somewhere this fancy.) As I watch I keep thinking about what went into designing and building something so involved, and how much work it must have been, and how clever the designers are to get all those little details right. I'm also in awe of the actors (sorry, cast members) who are basically improv players at the space ren-faire, something I would find exhausting. It can't be an easy job, so good work, people.
After I upload I'm off to do the cooking for the last big birthday of my calendar year! After this there are no more family holidays until Halloween. Unless I count San Diego Comic Con of course, but I won't be there this year. I'll be working at home this year. I hope everyone has fun!
