It's time we had... the talk.

This might be a long one, so buckle up!

At this point in time, this post may be redundant, but I wanted to make sure that there's no questions concerning the way I'll be proceeding in the future, both long and short term. I'm also going to go over what's next on my to-do list as of this moment.

Alright... let's discuss the most divisive part first: the removal of the non-sharing path and the non-futa path.

From this point forward (and actually starting with the last one-off), there won't be a non-sharing path, nor will there be an option to make the futa characters fully female. There are several reasons for this, but the most important ones are:

1. The stories I want to tell going forward would be almost impossible to tell with a sharing and non-sharing path without essentially making two completely separate games, and let's face it... I'm just not that ambitious. I've learned quite a bit while working on the NSFW and one of the greatest things I've learned was my limitations. Can I make two separate paths that barely touch each other with some of the main story beats? Sure. Do I want to? Not just no... HELL no. Why? Well...

2. As I progressed through making the NSFW, I found that when I had an idea I thought people would really did that had sharing elements in it, I struggled to come up with an analog to that scene for the non-sharing path. Not only that, but I started to... I don't know if "dread" or "resent" is a better word here, but let's just say that I found more reasons to not work on the game than I would have otherwise. And when I did finally get around to making that alternate scene...

3. The quality of the scenes on the non-sharing path wasn't equal to the sharing path, and it was getting worse and worse (in my mind, at least). This eventually culminated into what happened with the Christmas special. It was a month late due to not only my health issues, but me just not enjoying myself while working on it and that was almost entirely due to the tacked-on non-sharing version of the scenes. I hated it, and when I finally felt like myself again I was able to assess the situation and do what I had to do... cut the non-sharing path entirely. This obviously factored heavily into my decision to cut the non-sharing path from future content, but the idea had been kicking around in my head for a while already.

As for the removal of non-futa content, much of the reasons are the same, but it's largely the same "tacked on" feeling I described above. I have futas in the game for a reason, but that reason ended up not bearing any fruit in the long run. I figured I was going to need a dick besides the mc's to spice things up, but ended up butting against the non-sharing wall more than I had anticipated because a dick is a dick. This isn't set in stone, obviously, since there are some people who walked both the non-sharing and futa paths, but I always had to be aware of those who didn't and both of those things together just added too many variables to keep track of... or at least more than I wanted to deal with.

The idea I have with futa content from now on, and this also goes for a lot of character interactions, is that you will have the option to skip it if it ends up being integral to the "main" story, or avoid it if it isn't. For those of you who have played "My New Family" I want to try to make it similar to that. When it comes time to have a scene with a character, you will be given the choice to go meet them or not. If you choose to not go see them, there won't be any alternate content, but you won't have to hook up with characters you don't like, regardless of if they're hanging dong or not.

That choice will probably only pertain to non-main story stuff. I don't want to add 100 variables to dance around if you happen to not like one of the main characters, but I'll try to make sure there's nobody too "out there" in the main cast.

This is getting long, but that was the main thing I needed to clarify with everyone. I'll try to quickly cover the rest.

Right now I'm dealing with "The Merge" and will be until both versions of it are complete. That is the main project I'm working on. After that, I'll be starting to gather assets and do all the pre-production things I need to in order to begin work on the spin-off that will be done (hopefully) in Honey Select 2. This is going to take some time. Probably a lot of time, actually.

After I get at least one decent sized chapter of that done and released, I'll probably start doing the pre-production on what is essentially season 2 of the NSFW. If you played through Week 10, you probably know that there's more stories I have to tell and some shit is about to go down! Again.. this will probably take a while (and is also quite a ways off).

While I'm doing all of that, however, I will still be busting out one-offs here and there. Some will be public, some for Fan-Favorite and higher. As I said in an earlier post, if the one-off deals with elements linking season 1 to season 2, it will be public.

These one-offs could be about damn near anything I get a hair up my ass to make into a story, and will probably include some "day in the life of..." as well as just random "Hey! This is a thing that happened!" type stuff. While these one-offs will still be in the "current" NSFW world, they will be following the post-week 10 rules of no non-sharing and non-futa choices. If a one-off focus around futa content and you don't like futa content, just skip that one and we'll catch you in the next one. Unless, of course, the next one is also centered around something you hate...

In the interest of not writing a novel, I think I'll end this here. I covered the big stuff, and if I think of something else you should know about, I'll let you know in a future update! Of course... there is just one more little thing...

You know those one-offs I was talking about? Yeah... there's a new one ready to go! This one is going to be public. Not because it's integral to the story, but because it's a taste of how things can go from here on out. If you played the last one-off centered around Tomo, you'll already have an idea of what this is because it's basically the same in terms of length and content, but this time it's centered around everyone's favorite commentator, Gary!

For those who didn't get to play the last one, this will show you a bit of what I can do now that my chains are off of me. Before, I wouldn't be able to make a one-off like this without backlash because it doesn't feature the mc, but now... well... now Gary can have some much deserved fun as well!
