If shido is an hyperactive example of how the cad's normally work, then so far she has not really been challenged. She doesn't need an ability to fall back on/help out. Ultimately it is giving her cad longer to learn how she fights and create/find the ability that fits her and the team best. This is even more the case if shido is somehow affecting other cad's around him since he has been round viv the longest. If Reese is that excited about their next match, then maybe multiple abilities/evolutions will happen.
