Upcoming subscription changes

To all Herald of the Stars members,

With Herald of the Stars coming up on three years of publication I have decided to make a small change.

Patreon has altered many options in its menus for creators over the years and for some time now, I can get them to pay me in pounds, not dollars.

When I first set everything up, this was not possible, so I've been paying for everything to be converted into dollars, and then in to pounds. As one might imagine, this costs me hundreds of pounds a year.

I've been holding off on changing anything so as to avoid price increases while everyone was subject to high inflation. The global economy has settled a bit now and Herald of the Stars is well established; with the three year anniversary coming up, its a good time to make a small change.

To reduce the costs of each transaction, I am going to swap everything over to pounds on my end. This won't change much for subscribers as you will still see prices in your country's currency. It does, however, mean that I only need to pay once!

When one changes currency, they have to re-price their tiers and I am going to take the opportunity to do so. The numbers, (3/5/10) will remain the same. However, as it will now be in pounds, not dollars, on my end, this is going to result in a small price increase for new subscribers only.

When I first started posting, I offered 20 chapters ahead. Now there are over 70. Even with a small price increase, Herald of the Stars will still be cheaper than it was when I first started posting.

The guidance provided by Patreon states that price increases only effect new subscribers, not current ones. That means this small price increase will only effect those who jump in and out every few months and not my long term subscribers.

I will be making these changes on the October 1st. You all have until then to sign up and benefit from the permeant discount. If you unsubscribe, then re-subscribe after the 1st October, you will be paying a bit more, depending on your country's exchange rate with the pound.

The discount for long term subscribers will remain until you unsubscribe, Herald of the Stars ends, or Patreon changes its policies. Whichever comes first.
