Johnny Football Netflix Documentary Review

I didn't feel sorry for him but disappointed in the program and the coaches. They enabled him and it seems like he was enabled his whole life as long as he performed. I mean seeing a 19 year old kid wasted and turn the blind eye because he performed was strange. But at a certain point he had to know he couldn't sustain that behavior. And then the Browns as much as the NFL teams investigate and can even gather stool samples didn't know about him even after his workout with the Browns. Either that was fabricated or the Browns brass isn't smart. But at the end of the day you are tolerated as long as they want to tolerate you and the Browns cut their losses.

You mentioned empathy a couple of times but as you alluded to, it's hard to have empathy for someone who who was such a complete F___ up. If he would have at least TRIED to be a pro and live up to what the Browns invested in him maybe you could shrug your shoulders and say hey, he just didn't make it in The League. But he didn't try. He didn't care about anyone other than Johnny Football. Maybe there's a diagnosis now that says there's something wrong beyond being a D___ Head. But that probably won't resonate with 90% of football fans. He got paid a ransom to play a kids game and seemingly had no regard for the people who put their trust in him (Fans, Family, the Browns organization). A tragic figure in some ways, but then again, what a waste.
