we used to always hear about peyton manning and MH1 practcing routes for hours, days, weeks. is this something that a pro qb making millions is expected to do, put the time in for footwork and throwing outs a thousand times? or he's been doing it and still not executing? drives us all crazy, you see the insane arm and leg talent. Justin Fields should be unstoppable.

Thank you for what you do JT. As a Bears fan trying to figure out what they should do this offseason, can you elaborate on this? I agree Fields isn’t the guy and I’m hoping they move on from him after the season. But it seems even the better quarterbacks in the league struggle when they don’t have talent or guys they can trust around them. The Bears don’t have enough weapons on offense and DJ is not a WR1. I know many are high on Caleb, but wouldn’t it be wiser to take a guy like MHJ instead, especially given some of the recent success we’ve seen with guys like Purdy?

Great video as always. I want Justin to be the guy so bad but he’s not it. 3 things. 1. His hezzy gives me anxiety every single game. 2. The two point conversion… idc if he throws it out of the back of the end zone I can deal with it but he just doesn’t see it or doesn’t trust it and it’s year 3 dawg!! No anticipation throws at all. 3. The wide open flat and dagger that Justin constantly misses… I’ve watched enough of Caleb that he’s not missing those throws. Period. Will he miss some? Sure but the constant wide open throws aren’t to the standard of an NFL quarterback. Thanks for what you do

Fields was playing with his shoulder a bunch that second half after hutch chopped his arm on the volleyball spike out of bounds I wonder if that had anything to do with him leaving the ball high on a few throws

I could be wrong but it looks like that extra little hitch that causes him to be a touch late, may stem from Fields knowing the majority of his throws are not anticipatory. He needs to see his guy open first rather than being able to throw his guy open. So, in order to make up for it, he tries to get a little extra juice from arm strength. Almost like he has to load up before firing the ball. Maybe.

JT, I hear you mention the footwork as a reason he is late with so many of his throws. Do you think its that extra bounce / hitch, or that he needs to see it before he throws it? It seems like he just doesn't trust ANY anticipation throws.

Agree that I joined for Bears tape. Would love to have JT's honest assessment on what the Bears should do in next years draft. Hoping the can trade down to 2, take MHJ, and pick up McCarthy or similar in the 2nd (trading up) or 3rd.
