Pre-release for this week's video: The Salvage Operation!
Added 2023-07-21 02:26:48 +0000 UTCThis video is slightly different. These are some of the systems that are missing parts or otherwise damaged, so I wanted to see which parts were salvageable. Was going for a simpler project this week to save time, with the goal of getting a head-start on next week's video. However, it seems I'm totally incapable of doing that because I got a little carried away on this one - five systems! Glad I did though, this adventure yielded some good stuff.
The reason I was trying to get a jump on next week's video is I'm going to Atlanta for VCF Southeast, then I'm off to the west coast for my first actual vacation in two years. I might try to hit VCF West while I'm there. Are any of you planning to attend either event?
Hope you like the video!

2023-07-22 15:46:51 +0000 UTCOh boy... I'd love to have either of those boards! That would make a great video as a companion for the ABIT KT7A-RAID, since these are some seldom-seen boards. I do have a PO box, will send you a message. Thanks so much!

2023-07-21 21:45:34 +0000 UTCYup, that appears to be the BIOS update. The latest one on The Retro Web is marked 1008 but appears to be a beta release. Can you tell what date the copy you have was released? Might be worth uploading: https://theretroweb.com/motherboards/s/asus-a7m266#downloads

2023-07-21 21:39:51 +0000 UTCIf you ever get a post office box/mail drop address I can hook you up with a dual-y Athlon. For reasons lost to history I own 2 x MSI K7D and 2 x Chaintech 7KDDs.

2023-07-21 20:33:28 +0000 UTCI have an A7M266, but for the life of me can't remember which processor I have in there; I will have to check. I am sure I have the manual and probably CD for it. I also have a downloaded file named "1008a2662b" which is probably a BIOS update for that board.

2023-07-21 20:31:45 +0000 UTCFor the side panels, probably a 3D printer for 4 edges with the right hooks/holes to mate with the case, and then an acrylic window in the middle to fill the space.

2023-07-21 20:29:55 +0000 UTCThis will actually be my first VCF event! Next year I may try to set up an actual booth, since Atlanta is only about 4 hours from me. This year I'll just be wandering around trying not to buy everything.

2023-07-21 13:47:32 +0000 UTCBummer, my VCF event for the year was East...next year I'll try to add Southeast (Wall Township and Atlanta are almost equidistant from where I live).
