Some New Material

I'm psyched on this set. Two chunks were brand new, and did better than I've ever had new stuff do. Here's what went well.
(1) The Raiders bit about my dad. That chunk killed. Everyone I told it to in passing loved it, so I had high hopes, but the punch line about him being safe as long as there's a Mexican in earshot, as well as the gangsta walk he does with the jacket on (learned that walk at the lowrider convention) got like A level laughs, which is dope. The second chunk, about Carlos beating up a Padres fan after the Raiders lost, needs a lot of tightening, but there's something there.
(2) the Inflation Joke. I tried that one at multiple open mics, and it always bombed. Either women would groan, or asshole wannabe comics would just stone wall it, so I was amazed when it got a strong laugh/applausehere. Also, I love jokes that depart from the material you hear constantly on podcasts and in comedy clubs, like dating. However, the second chunk about college being a waste of money obviously needs tightening.
(3) As is tradition, I cancel/cock block Leo at the end from the stage. Nobody thinks this is funny but me, but I always do it.

I know yuou'll probably never read this... definitely came off as new material. Been watching your youtube for over a year. you definitely have a desired sense of humor for those that are sick of the mainstrream norm. Your set felt rushed. Like you were on a clock. Jokes were solid but seemed like the timing was a bit off. Then you noticed you weren't gettting the laughs you wnated, so you pivoted to crowd work which was good at the beginning then you went in on describing the hosts dick.... All in all a decent set. You got it. You're funny. If you are truly passionate about standup, do more, get comfortable, and stick with the script.
