Stray Kids - Mixtape Mini Album Reaction

Comments

They've written and produced all of their songs since the very beginning. Hellevator was made for their very first challenge given to them by JYP on their survival show. They show them going through Chan's tracks in one scene, and Han says he wants something dark and sentimental, and they settle on a track called "Elevator". Changbin comes up with the title. "Mixtape" is all pre-debut songs. No one really knows exactly what happened with Woojin, it was only said he left for "personal reasons", and he has a solo career now. A lot of fans, especially ones who have been with Stray Kids since the beginning, think of him negatively, because he left very close to a comeback, and it was only about a year after their debut. The group had to postpone the comeback to re-record songs and re-shoot some videos. It took a toll on the remaining 8. It was to the point that, on the last concert for their "District 9: Unlock" tour (their first world tour), several of them cried on stage, particularly Hyunjin, who basically broke down crying when discussing how hard it had been and asked Stay not to leave them. The SKZ2020 album has a most of these songs, and some from other early albums, re-recorded without Woojin. "School Life" was created to help I.N improve vocally at the time, because he was criticized during evaluation. The entire group split into 3 sub units to help each member that was in danger of elimination at the time; I.N with vocals, Hyunjin with rap, Lee Know with stage presence and overall skill besides dancing, because he had the least training time at the company before the show (only about a month I believe). Han wrote School Life, but had to write it from the stories of the other members, because he lived in Malaysia for a significant period of his school age years, and was home schooled after 3rd or 4th grade, so he had no idea what school life in Korea was actually like outside of what he'd seen on TV.
