Writing Update - 9/17/2019

Book 8 is now at 91.5k words. For most books, I'd be close to finishing. And I can sort of see the end with this book. There's... a few more chapters here and there that needs doing including the final scene.
But...
I'm finding that with the interruption in writing, the process of writing this book is less fluid. I'm leaving a lot of threads in the story that are just hanging, not being pulled together. There's an auction that I wanted to add, some other threads; but I'm realising I might have added a bunch of things that I'm not sure should be added. In fact, I'm almost 100% certain I need to drop the auction thread.
Normally, I have a better feel for the story by this point, and I sort of do - but the book I started writing and the one I'm writing now is quite, quite different. I know a lot of that is going to be cleaned up in editing, but I did want to warn all of you. Book 8 is going to be more disjointed than ever.
There might be a few chapters I want to rewrite from the beginning and certainly a lot more foreshadowing for parts.I'm likely to kill some scenes or make them a lot less important.
I'm still playing with the ending - so far, it's not coming to me properly. I hope what I write is good, but we'll have to see. I'm dealing with the kid right now by myself, so my brain is still half shot.
Sometimes, writing is just a matter of putting words down and hoping that there's something you can salvage in there.
