Is it the membership billed as "Google YouTube Member" like Alan Aztec and Russian Village Boys use? If so, people may not be able to join on youtube, because there's no "join" button.

Clicking on it gives: Members-only content Join this channel to get access to members-only content like this video, and other exclusive perks. Possibly relatedly, I also don't see a "join" button on the videos on youtube. I'm in the US if it's a region-lock thing.
