Update All Patrons Menu & BIOS Database

As you can see in the pic above, the good ol' Settings Screen from Update All receives a new menu for patrons only. This is meant to ease the distribution of the exclusive content that I'll be publishing.

To access the menu, you need to get the 'update_all.patreonkey' file attached to this post and place it inside the folder '/media/fat/Scripts'

Make sure the file sits next to update_all.sh, and that it weights 16 KB, as shown in this capture.

Experimental Downloader BIOS Database

The first and only option available in the Patrons Menu, for now, will be the "Experimental Bios Database".

It is meant to replace the "BIOS Getter" script entirely (which doesn't need to be deactivated once you activate this option, as Update All will handle that for you). The advantage of using the Database version is that updates will be much faster, safer, and more robust.

As of today, this database will install all the bioses on /media/fat/games folders, so if you are using CIFS or USB drives with games in them, it will be better if you don't activate this option, and stick to the BIOS Getter for now. Working on this database made me realize that I need to implement games folder detection in the Downloader following the heuristics from the MiSTer Firmware, as I did for the BIOS Getter, that's why I still can't cover these cases.

Additionally, this new BIOS Database will install the PlayStation BIOS for the beta core from Robert Peip (the BIOS Getter doesn't do that yet).

Como puedes ver en la imagen de arriba del todo, nuestra querida Settings Screen de Update All ahora tiene un menú exclusivo para mecenas. Gracias a este nuevo menú, será más fácil distribuir el contenido exclusivo que pienso ir publicando próximamente.

Para poder acceder a dicho menú, tienes que descargar y copiar el archivo 'update_all.patreonkey' que encontrarás adjuntado a esta misma publicación, en la carpeta 'Scripts' de tu SD, tal y como puedes ver en la siguiente imagen:

Comprueba que dicho archivo está al lado de update_all.sh, y ocupa 16 KB

Experimental Downloader BIOS Database

La primera y única opción del "Patrons Menu" por ahora consiste en activar una base de datos para bioses.

La idea es que funcione como reemplazo del script "BIOS Getter" (el cual no hace falte que desactives manualmente al activar esta opción, ya que Update All se encargará de gestionar todo eso por ti). La ventaja de usar una base de datos es que gracias a ello las actualizaciones serán mucho más rápidas, más seguras y más robustas.

Por ahora, esta base de datos solamente instalará las bios en las carpetas dentro de /media/fat/games , por lo que si estás usando CIFS o unidades USB con carpetas 'games' dentro, será mejor que no actives esta opción, y sigas usando el BIOS Getter como hasta ahora. Trabajando en esto, me di cuenta que todavía me hace falta implementar la deteccion de carpetas 'games' en el Downloader, tal y como lo hice en su día para el BIOS Getter, por eso todavía no puedo cubrir esos escenarios.

Adicionalmente, esta BIOS Database instalará la BIOS de PlayStation para el core beta de Robert Peip (el BIOS Getter no la está instalando todavía).
