Hey guys! Here's a new track, and the longest one off the album too.
For this one, I actually got a private message from Rhodes, who was interested in working with me after I posted a wip somewhere. I gladly accepted because it seemed like a fun time.
Rhodes started out by picking the sample, and he ended up going with a really good one. I sent him some basic chops, and he sent me some of his, as well as some synthesizer chords (0:51 - 1:25 or so is all him). I laid out the structure and did the mixing afterwards (About 3:08 onward is all me!)
I decided to also include the interlude, since that's the way the track is formatted on the album. For this track, I wanted to go for a vibe that called back to my 2019 record Komoroko, for the sake of variety. It's a purely sample based song, and features a poem created by my high school friend Kaprekar. I showed him the instrumental and asked him if he could do a spoken word kind of thing over it for fun, and he really went above and beyond. I actually asked Kap to do a take of the vocals where he whispered the lyrics the whole way through, and while it's subtle you can hear it if you listen closely.
Hope you all enjoy! Thanks for the support!
