Ev.exi x Mere Notilde - Galetus

For this week's song I'll be sharing the final mix of a track made in collaboration with Ev.exi! I've gone into detail on Ev's influence on my music before, so I won't go into it again here. There's a lot to talk about here regardless!
Patrons who have heard the previous version of this track will notice the addition of a brand new climax! I decided to give the song a proper buildup around the two minute mark by doing some guitar work and messing around with some TB-303 synth emulators. While I've moved on from my metalhead days, I still have a bit of a soft spot for some heavy guitars. I messed around for a bit with the project and ultimately decided to pay tribute to some of the old sludge metal bands I used to be big on, mainly the Melvins, by including a heavy outro.
At the time I was working on this track, I was listening to a lot of oldschool Chicago House. A lot of the tracks I was listening to at the time had a heavy emphasis on bouncy TB-303 style synth basslines, and I wanted to pay tribute to that in some way. After some experimenting, I found that a distorted 303 actually fit pretty well with the guitar tones I had come up with!
I should also mention the other heavy distorted synths incorporated into the track. At 2:20, I added a second synth in an attempt to to make something Justice influenced. The distortion was heavily inspired by the tracks NewJack and Phantom in particular. I should also cite the Chemical Brothers as a big influence here, mainly with the track MAH! If you hear the synths there you might be able to draw some parallels to this track.
So that's the track! As you can (hopefully) tell, a lot of work went into this thing from both me and Ev. I'm super happy with the results! Hopefully we can release this thing soon, though I don't want to throw out a release date until we're totally sure!
