How to Paint: A Grimdark Black Templar

The following paints were used:
Games Workshop: Mephiston Red, Evil Sunz Scarlet, Yriel Yellow, Morghast Bone, Screaming Skull
Vallejo: Basalt Grey, Neutral Grey, Pale Grey Blue, German Grey, Metal Colour Exhaust Manifold, Metal Colour Gunmetal Grey Vallejo Varnish: Mecha Matt Varnish (optional Mecha Gloss Varnish)
Scale 75: Necro Gold
P3: Morrow White
Winsor & Newton: Black, Burnt Sienna, Sansodoor Odorless Mineral Spirit
Badger: Ultimate Primer Black
Artis Opus: Series S size 1 and 00, Small Drybrush

Same answer as above: It's a good question. They give slightly different looks. The oil works tend to be more grimy and grimdark looking. I could use them for the Aeldari but I prefer the brighter, cleaner look for them. I might try one with oils though! It also depends a little on what I feel like as I have to make an effort to get my oils out! Haha As an extra, the oil work requires more layers with the varnish so isn't as suitable for me for higher level painting.

2022-04-05 02:55:11 +0000 UTCGreat video. Just a quick question, if that is alright. Why do you work with contrast paints on some videos for the whole 'glaze' portion after stippling, and sometimes oil paints? Like the howling banshee vs the space marines. I am very curious of that.
