Update!
Added 2024-03-29 15:38:01 +0000 UTCI'm back from Adepticon! I've just about recovered from my jet lag and am back to work with painting and videos. I've just posted the latest video that looks at every model in the Golden Demon cabinets so that you can see all the hard work and care that people put into their entries, rather than just the winners.
The Golden Demon had a few changes this time, so I go over those too. I was a little disappointed that there were no professional painters to judge the competition, Games Workshop didn't send over any of the Eavy Metal team. There were definitely results that were a little eyebrow raising to me, but I won a silver trophy in the Open Competition, so I can't complain too much 😂.
I will add that please don't judge the quality of the painting too harshly based on my video. The cabinet lighting was the worst I've ever seen. It would have been better to turn it off as you would be able to see more. I have given feedback to GW regarding this.
I've got a few videos to pop out quickly to finish off Sekhar and her base, but I'm starting new projects! I'll also be finishing off some Golden Demon entries that weren't ready for this one. Fulgrim being a main target!

I think it’s pretty disappointing that GW don’t send at least one Eavy Metal painter out to judge. There are so many staff that are past winners and incredibly passionate about Golden Demon yet it seems those that are actually in charge of the events treat it as an afterthought. It really wouldn’t take much to make the entrants feel more valued by showing off the work both in the cabinets and online.
