Chapter 17 - New Life in God of War

Hyperion looked at Faye for a moment, unsure of what to say.
"I... I don't want to give up... With my powers, there are dozens of ways I could make her completely mine. But that's not what I want. I want her to fall in love with me for who I am. If it's just because of my powers, if it's about my usefulness to her, then it's better not to start this relationship. I can help her as a friend in the future, but if it's for those reasons, I’d rather we not be husband and wife. And I already have both of you in my heart. So it was never out of desperation or need, but out of desire that I wanted her to be my companion." Hyperion spoke and embraced the two women.

After staying like that for a while, they decided to head back.
"Where are we going now?" Kratos asked.
"Well, I haven’t decided yet... Let’s take one last stroll around Alfheim and decide." Hyperion said.

The giant wolf began walking through the lush forests filled with animals. The animals did not hide upon seeing the giant wolf but ran alongside it, playing.

After some time walking, the giant wolf was forced to stop, as there was someone in its path.
Hyperion and the girls, seeing the figure ahead, dismounted from the wolf.

"Why are you here?" Hyperion asked, furrowing his brows in thought.
"Your Highness, I did not come alone..." The figure immediately knelt, and another figure emerged from the forest, kneeling beside the first.

Soon, thousands of silhouettes began to appear from within the forest, kneeling behind those figures.
After a while, one last silhouette stepped out of the forest and knelt beside the first two figures.

"Dark Elf King, Light Elf King... and you, you must be the librarian of the Forbidden Ruins," Hyperion said, recognizing the three figures before him.
"I have already told you, you do not need to kneel to thank me," Hyperion said, shaking his head.

"Your Highness, we do not kneel out of gratitude, but out of loyalty. We wish to beg you to rule over the elves, both dark and light," the Dark Elf King said with an expression of devotion.

""""WE BEG YOU, RULE OVER US!!!"""" All the elves shouted in unison.

"Huh??" Hyperion was caught off guard. In fact, thinking about it, it made a lot of sense. After all, Freyr, just by emerging from the Well of Souls at the beginning of the realm travel, had managed to become a sort of deity among the elves, which led to a certain peace between the factions. Because of that, the elves also wanted Freyr to rule over them.

So, considering the impact Hyperion and the girls had on Alfheim, it wasn't difficult to guess that the elves would seek submission.

Hyperion looked at the girls with a gleam in his eyes, as if he had found something very entertaining to do.

The girls exchanged glances, feeling helpless under that bright-eyed gaze, but eventually, they smiled, finding the prospect of ruling and bringing peace to an entire kingdom interesting.

Especially Kratos—ever since she saw the painting of her male version being worshipped in the game, she couldn't get it out of her mind. While helping to revive Alfheim, she felt some of her sins being washed away. She realized she was not born just for destruction and vengeance, but that she also had a purpose in existence.

As for Faye, she simply enjoyed helping others—that was just who she was.

Seeing that they did not object, Hyperion's eyes sparkled even more.

He then looked at the elves and sought confirmation.
"Are you sure you want me to rule over you? Once I put my efforts into governing you, I will not allow you to break away from me," Hyperion spoke seriously to the elves.

"Your Majesty, as long as you do not seek to harm or enslave the elves, we will be forever loyal," the Light Elf King said.

""""FOREVER LOYAL!!!"""" All the elves shouted in unison once more.

Seeing this, Hyperion's eyes flashed with amusement, but then he became serious.
"Very well! FROM THIS DAY FORWARD, I, HYPERION, KNOWN AS THE BENEVOLENT, SHALL BE THE ELVEN EMPEROR UNTIL THE END OF TIME!!! I WILL LEAD THE ELVES TO GLORY!!!" Hyperion roared, his voice echoing across all of Alfheim.

"""GLORY TO YOUR MAJESTY!!!""" the elves shouted.
"""GLORY TO THE ELVEN EMPEROR!!!""" the elves shouted once again.

After that, Hyperion crowned Kratos and Faye as empresses with the same power as him. The elves had no objections—after all, the three had always been together while doing good for their kingdom. They only crowned Hyperion first because they knew they were husband and wives.

Then, a celebration began. Hyperion created an abundance of food and drink using his magic, astonishing all the elves with such power. The elves feasted and drank until they fell asleep wherever they dropped.

Only Hyperion and the girls remained awake in the middle of the night.

Hyperion was staring into the flames of the bonfire, lost in thought.
He snapped out of his thoughts when he felt a hand on his shoulder.

"Are you thinking about her?" Faye asked softly.

Hyperion remained silent for a few seconds.
"I don't understand. She should have come. I know she loved me; she was just confused because of her motherhood. It makes no sense that she didn't come," Hyperion said, lost.

Faye looked at him for a moment and sighed.
She didn’t understand why Freya didn’t come either. She thought she knew Freya very well and was certain she would come.

But a voice broke her confused thoughts and made both of them widen their eyes.

"Freya did not stay away because she doesn’t love you, but perhaps because she loves you too much," Kratos said, looking up at the sky.

When Hyperion heard Kratos' words, he immediately stood up.
"I need to find her!" Hyperion said, looking at his two wives.

The girls nodded when they saw the determination in his eyes.

Hyperion then took off, soaring high into the sky. When he was high enough to see all of Alfheim, he stopped ascending.

He then looked in every direction and furrowed his brows.
"Freya is not in Alfheim, so... she must be in Midgard!" Hyperion deduced.

With a thought, a portal appeared before Hyperion, and he stepped through it.
