"Everything Stays" from Adventure Time Cover

I whipped up a little cover of this amazing song from Adventure Time because it makes me cry and makes me appreciate stillness in these hectic times! I also thought this older picture of me matched the energy and theme of the song quite well. For such a simple, lullaby-like song, "Everything Stays" has such an important and meaningful message. I'm sure most of you can tell by now that when I self-produce things, I tend to lean into a very lofi, electronic pop sound, and I thought this song could sound really nice in that style. I also experimented a little with the lead vocal sound and tried to go for a more double-tracked, saturated Sufjan Stevens vibe. I hope you guys like this and it brings you some peace in such a turbulent world. <3

2024-08-28 22:27:59 +0000 UTCI love this song. Where did you get the background/instrumentals? Fun fact: when Rebecca Sugar wrote this song, she was thinking of a memory from when she was a child. She had a stuffed bunny toy i believe, and she left it in her backyard (or the garden? i cant remember) for like a year or something, and when she found it again, she felt so bad that she forgot about it. Thats where the line "the underside is lighter when you turn it around" came from, because she left the toy there so long that it faded from the sun. I thought it was a sweet story.
