Hanna Barbera Story Bible - Atom Ant Story
Added 2024-05-02 15:39:08 +0000 UTCA few years ago Adult Swim asked me to develop a Hanna Barbera anthology series that featured many of their early characters. Here is a story Richard Pursel and I wrote featuring Atom Ant and his secret identity.
My story outlines evolved over the decades. On Ren and Stimpy we wrote our outlines with text only. After awhile I started adding rough sketches to my outlines because when I had gag sessions with my co-writers I always drew sketches of many of the gags. The sketches made the story ideas clearer than text alone. Of course many executives can't read pictures (I know because they would tell me they can't read storyboards.) Luckily Adult Swim's exec Mike Lazzo was very visually literate and appreciated illustrated outlines.
