Hey Outer Wilds fans - I've got good news!

I've made a video about the Outer Wilds DLC. That's right, not Undertale, not Deltarune, not a RAM devlog. Outer Wilds. I know... scandalous. If you weren't aware, though, Outer Wilds is another of my absolute favourite games, and I've wanted to put something about it on my channel for years. The problem was always finding a unique take.

Well, I'm happy to announce that I found one. It's weird. It's kind of critical, even. But it sure as hell is unique. If you're a long-time fan of the game, I hope I can show you a perspective on Echoes of the Eye that you may never have considered.

Of course, if you haven't played the game... that's a different story. Outer Wilds is unfortunately a game that's incredibly sensitive to spoilers, and this video doesn't hold anything back. Watching this before playing the game will pretty much make it impossible to have a normal first playthrough in the future. So for all those who do watch the video, I hope you enjoy, but for anyone who chooses (wisely imo) to abstain from watching this until they have a chance to play the game for themselves, I'll copy-paste the Patreon update below.

• Now for what you’ve all been waiting for: the patron update. As you can see, the names scrolling up the screen right now are my patreon supporters. I’m frankly surprised I still have so many after publishing so few videos this year, but the reason for that is, of course, RAM. Developing a commercial indie game is, unsurprisingly, a full-time job, and the closer RAM gets to release the harder it becomes to allocate weeks or months of time to video production. I wish I could say I’d found a solution to this, but no, if anything it’s just going to get worse. This might be the last mainline video you see from me until the game releases, so my honest recommendation to those who want to support me would be to just lay off the patreon sub for now and... idunno, buy RAM I guess.

For further clarity, I appreciate any avenue through which you choose to support my work, but I want to be very clear that said work is probably not going to be "video essays" for the near future. As I've said before, I still have plenty of long term plans for youtube- I'm not quitting- but in the short term RAM is becoming too big to put on the backburner. Rest assured that when Toby drops chapter 3, at very least, I'll be right back on the bandwagon in no time.
