Very sorry that you have been impacted by gun violence :( I do want to clarify that I do not think the episode was necessarily in poor taste. Just saying I totally understand if some feel it was too much.
2023-09-25 21:55:48 +0000 UTCGlee was one of the biggest shows in TV at the time. And it was on a very conservative network. Those same conservatives who ran fox were the same ones who are on the board of the NRA and active members of the rebublkcan party. And a lot of those people wanted to turn a blind eye to these situations to protect their gun rights. I really do think that this episode was a “look at what you are ignoring in America rn” and of corse they hid it inside a normal looking episode. Now idk how many conservatives were watching glee at the time but I think it was more about having this episode air on Fox during such a controversial time and giving a middle finger while also showing that this is real life. Idk I’m very passionate ab this episode as someone who has experienced hun violenceI don’t find it distasteful and actually really relate to and enjoy this episode in a weird way but can respect other peoples feelings about it being very different. But that’s what’s great about art. It can be very polarizing and many people can interpret the intentions and the final product. Anyway very excited that we’re almost at season 5!!!!

2023-09-25 21:50:47 +0000 UTCI didn't comment on your episode reaction because I saw you very touched by the episode and didn't want to ruin the moment since I usually make snarky and very critical comments about the series especiales at this point where I stopped liking the tone of it. I think that in general the comedy isn't landing and I'm getting bored by the drama because they just got rid of most of the characters I enjoyed. Now, about this particular episode I think there was no need for this topic in this series as it leads to nothing so I don't know what was their purpose with it. If they really wanted to showcase their serious side, there are plenty of topics that could be exploited with the characters themselves but yet they are getting short on creativity. I'm my opinion this was so off-putting.
