Part 1: Story Recap

The tale of Clank, Bang, Crown unfolds within the Peril Realm timeline, a unique branch of Mortal Kombat’s legacy. This world is written so that longtime fans and newcomers alike can enjoy the saga, free from the burden of keeping track of the official games’ continuity.

In this timeline, Earthrealm has fallen. Defeat in Mortal Kombat shattered its defenses, opening the door for Outworld’s invasion. The chaos stirred something long thought lost, Queen Sindel, once believed dead, awakens from a deep coma and reclaims her throne.

Her return is far from merciful. To mark her rise, she presents a cruel gift to the Emperor: Sonya Blade, one of Earthrealm’s most celebrated warriors. Stripped of freedom, Sonya is cast into the arenas, not as a champion but as a toy for the Emperor’s amusement. Yet Sonya’s spirit does not break. Her resilience begins to unravel the Queen’s expectations, hinting that Earthrealm’s hope may not be fully extinguished.

While the Empire celebrates its conquest, intrigue stirs within the shadows. The Lin Kuei clan is tasked with a dangerous mission: to steal a precious crown from the Emperor’s private trophy collection. What should have been a swift and silent operation becomes anything but.

The operatives, Cyrax and Sektor, share little more than mutual contempt. Their rivalry crackles as loudly as their weapons, but survival forces them to work side by side. Their path spirals into carnage and chaos, testing their loyalties and their limits.

Unbeknownst to them, their struggle is not unseen. From the depths of the Netherrealm, the sinister sorcerer Quan Chi observes their every move. At his side stands a mysterious woman, her identity cloaked in secrecy, her motives unreadable.

Through blood, fire, and fractured trust, Cyrax and Sektor seize their prize. In the end, their unlikely partnership proves enough to claim the Emperor’s crown, but not without consequences. Their final battle against the formidable Lei Mei sets the stage for a larger conflict to come, one where shadows and schemes may matter more than steel and strength.

Part 2: Characters

Cyrax & Sektor

First Sektor and Cyrax were the stars. Overall, the female version introduced in MK1 received massive backlash and seemed to be universally hated. Gender swapping is something that works for me, because I cater to catfight type media, but understand why people hated the swap. I knew these characters wouldn't be popular, but I'm thinking big picture in a series that goes on for a longtime, so rather than every fight just be Sonya and Mileena, I wanted to bring my variety to the universe.

The first thing to do was work on their personalities. I liked MK Khaos reigns, but can understand why people find Sektor insufferable, and Cyrax the standard Mary Sue goodie character. I wanted them to be rival like buddy cops, and causing absurd massive amounts of damage from their incompetence, but still formidable and getting the job done.

Sektor was to be strict, but witty, like Subzero's "hot mean girlfriend" who is an evil genius. Cyrax was to be bubbly, funny, a complete klutz, and have no idea how to use her weapons. I made the catch phrase for her, “I’ll kick your butt!” because it sounds kind of funny and silly, as you’d expect, “I’ll kick your ass!” but she says it so confidently with a mixture of feistiness and sass, it works.

Initially I was going to have their outfits just be the game standard without pants or shoes. I liked what I came up with better, cyber bikini armor, where the helmets deploy when they are in danger.

Sektor, I cast as a thick Asian wrestler. She is the shortest character and has a lot of bounce to her. I gave her nicer lips and turned her into someone who knew how to properly apply makeup.

Cyrax is the most toned and athletic looking, she is also the tallest of the main females features so far. Also... Cyrax was bald in MK1... WTF? HOW ARE YOU NOT GOING TO GIVE HER DREADS NEATHERREALM??! So yeah, I gave her much cooler hair, and a cuter face.

Li Mei

OH MY GOSH! I’ve been spelling Li Mei, Lei Mei this entire time! I have to make like 50 edit corrections across the entire series! AAARRAH!

Yeah, Li Mei is nice. I used her a lot in promotional material, including the banner. I liked her much more in MK Deadly Alliance, and Deception, but she was alright in MK1 I guess. She’s not a part of the harem like Kitana, and Mileena, but more of a shrine maiden. I also went back and forth with her hair, but I think it looks best put up. She has some muscle to her.

Guest Characters

I based, Sub, Qwan, and the sisters off their Mortal Kombat Mythologies appearances. I feel like everyone was so much tougher looking back then.

Quan Chi looks like a goof ball in MK1, not a megalomaniac that will tear off your head and drink from your skull.

The guy that played Subzero in MK Mythologies and MK3 is jacked, and his jaw is a square as the giga chad’s.

The sisters are based on their MK mythologies actresses (besides Sareena) and I put tribal runes on them because Sareena was covered in them during the Mortal Kombat Mythologies commercials.

Part 3: Behind the Scenes

This was the hardest picture of the set:

Seven characters, and four scenes rolled into one. Also, the detail of the mirrors and Dragon Pentagram on the floor. LMAO it was the hardest and got the LEAST amount of favs or attention then the SERIES. I’m not salty about it, but I find it funny. I hope people still looked at it, read it, and it enticed them to keep following the story, or at least appreciated it.

Originally Li Mei was going to win. My initial plan was going to be to have her win and capture Sektor and Cyrax, but I decided to go a different direction.

Deeper Behind The Scenes

This originally was going to be a “TEST YOUR MIGHT” Story featuring Sektor, with Noob testing her. However, I decided to back track, use a classic Subzero, and have them have a nice relationship.

Here are some more pics that I never finished and changed direction on:

Part 4: Your Feedback

That’s the foundation I built for Sektor and Cyrax, two characters who were never meant to be fan favorites, but who I believe can grow into something fun, unpredictable, and uniquely their own in this series. Now I’d like to hear from you.

What parts of the story have stood out the most so far? Which characters, fights, or dynamics are you enjoying, and what do you want to see more of as the series continues?

Whether it’s returning favorites, new matchups, or directions you think the Peril Realm timeline should explore, your feedback helps shape where this journey goes next. Share what you liked, what didn’t work for you, and what you’re most excited to see in the future.

Thank you
